Setup your device for the websafe network

Setup your connection to Web Safe

In order to connect your device to the Web Safe network you will need to install the secure certificate onto your device. Please note that ALL traffic which passes through the Web Safe network is monitored, including connections to websites which display the padlock symbol and secure messaging applications like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. By using the Web Safe network you agree for your data to be made public to network administrators.

Please follow the instructions below to configure your device:

IOS (IPhone / IPad / IMac) /  Android  /  Windows

Instructions for IOS (IPhone / IPad / IMac)

 

The certificate must be installed using the Safari web browser (also called the “Internet” app). If you are using a different app to view this message then please close it now and re-open the page in Safari (copy/paste the following url:  https://lennox-it.uk/websafe)

  • Ensure that you are viewing this page using the Safari web browser (also called the “Internet” app)
  • Click Here to download the secure certificate
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to trust and install the certificate onto your device

 

Instructions for Android

 

  • Click Here to download the secure certificate
  • Go to Settings
  • Go to the Security section
  • You may have to click to show “Advanced Settings”
  • Under credentials section choose “Install from device storage”
  • Locate the “websafe.der” file on your device and follow the prompts to install the certificate
  • Note that you will have to enable a pattern or pin lock for your phone in order to install the certificate

 

Instructions for Windows

 

  • Click Here to download the secure certificate to your desktop or downloads folder
  • Browse to the downloaded “websafe.der” file and double click to open it
  • Choose the option “Install Certificate” (note that you will need administrator privileges to continue)
  • Choose “Local Machine”
  • Choose “Place all certificates in the following store” and click “Browse”
  • Select “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” from the list
  • Click “Next” and “Finish”
  • You may need to close and reopen your web browser
